31 December 2013

2013 may be good, 2014 might be better.

2013 was a good one for me, was it good for you? I hope it is!

Well, i started off 2013 with some great new year resolutions, and I'm proud that I achieved most of them.

2013 New Year Resolution:
1. Maintain the balance between working and studying for at least half a semester - Accomplished
Yup, I'm kind of not very confident in that at first

2. Attain a GPA of at least 3.60 for the first semester in poly. - Accomplished
Yes, I'm only in year 1. *cries* i wished I'm in year 3 now

3. Better friendship, lesser enemies. - Accomplished
Some of you may know that friendship between me and a number of people soured because of a certain remarks i made. After all, friends is much more important nowadays but i do wonder who are real and who's not. But still, better friendship is much more desirable than having more enemies

4. Have a great Polytechnic Preparatory Programme (PPP) - Accomplished
PPP is the programme for DPA students which starts 2 months before polytechnic semester begins. Through this programme, I made friends from different schools (be it within Temasek Poly or different secondary school.) and i'm glad to have them. They just made my social circles larger and wider in diameter. I never regret meeting them and the only regret i have was not being able to attend one of the activities planned during orientation due to a stomachache of mine. Shucks.

5. Attain a leadership position in the school or any organisation(s) - Accomplished
(a) Greendale Alumni
Since the start of 2013, I was appointed as the Press and Media Officer of my Secondary School's Alumni, Greendale Alumni. Subsequently, I became the Vice President of the Alumni, along with Xavier (President) and JianHao (Vice President).

And of course, I would like to thank the 2nd Executive Committee of the Greendale Alumni for their commitment and time for the past one year.

(b) DPA Interest Group Main Committee
Even though i had left this committee 2 months ago, i can still remember the memories of us as a committee vividly. As the media head of the committee, there are many things to be done. Although this wasn't really a leadership position, I did make effort to be involve in every decision-making and meetings. Numerous of meetings continue one after another until the event day itself. It was tiring but nevertheless I do enjoy the presence of each and every members who made effort to be part of the decision making.

The chalets that we have was unforgettable, from Aloha Changi to NSRCC.
Thank you so much for all your patience even though sometimes, I was an asshole when voicing out my opinions.

6. Get Braces done - Accomplished
This could be my greatest accomplishment in the year of 2013.

I was always scared of the agonising pain that i will have if i were to have braces.
In addition, I'll always like to know how the hell does the dentist put the braces on your teeth ?!
(Now i know how)

I did my braces in April 2013, and it has been 8 months already. Gosh that was fast.
In around 10 months, I can show off my straight and neat teeth (like finally).

Of course, this new year resolution won't have been accomplished, if not for my mum.
Thanks for your unconditional love for the past 17 years of my life.

7. Spend more time with my beloved family - Partially Accomplished
In this year, I'm glad that I was able to have great memories with my family (both immediate and extended). But one thing that i regretted is that not being able to celebrate my birthday with my family this year as well as more time with the extended family.

Luckily, it wasn't so bad since my uncle recently got married!
(And thankfully, the Loh family managed to get a family photo taken with most members present)

In addition, I also managed to visit my Grandmother who resides in Muar, Johor, Malaysia for celebration of her birthday. (It was grand, although she's only 72. oops.)

----

This pretty sums up my year of 2013, with much of my new year resolutions being completed.

2013 has been a fruitful year for me, from friends to family as well as for myself.
Although I'm still single currently, the life of being single is definitely much more carefree.

I can proudly say that I'm a carefree blogger in terms of personal life.

Also, even though i did not stated in my 2013 new year resolution that I would like to be become a blogger, I'm glad that i'm actually keeping this blog alive and very willing to bring it to the next level.

Many friends of mine were like "You? You have a blog?!"

And i was like "yeah, is there something wrong? haha"

It appears that males don't really like to blog compared to females.

Thanks for reading this super-duper-long entry of mine, and i hope you won't end up sleeping while reading this post.

Wishing all my readers a Happy New Year, 2014!
God Bless all of you for your new year resolutions!

30 December 2013

We got a hell lots of problems these days.

Lots of problems these days.
Especially with the transport system nowadays. Probably some of you guys have heard of the just-recently opened downtown line and Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) and, of course, the not-so-famous issues regarding these two.

--

First up, downtown line
There were 2 disruptions within the first week of operations. That isn't a good sign.
I was expecting better performance from the downtown line as well as from SBST.
After all, i still believe in SBST these days, since the most frequent usage MRT line for me will be the North East line. Definitely, there are certain issues to be made known and solved.

My opinion about the 27th December's disruption on the downtown line is...
You can't blame a kid for the disruptions, don't you?
As many netizens pinpointed that there should be better measures for the so called 'Detrainment Device'  (that's what i call it, whatever), I think that the most important issue is not just that particular disruption, do you think that there are certain lapses in the Operation Plan of the Downtown line.

Personally, i haven't get to experience the downtown line yet, but soon; and hopefully i don't get stuck in the tunnel or whatsoever.

--

Being an enthusiastic person about the transport as well as directions (well, i don't really have a good sense of directions though, i get lost sometimes), i sure have a lot to comment about this.

Just this morning, jams and congestions took place at the MCE.
How great guys, you get to be stuck under the sea. Nope not underwater like how spongebob is like.

Literally under the sea (you don't get to see the water).

So does the MCE stands for Massive Congestion Expressway? You decide for yourself.
Hopefully, there won't be any accidents in the tunnel, you won't want that to happen though.

27 December 2013

Certain people shouldn't be ignored.

Put yourself into a long term situation whereby you couldn't stand this person and yet, the person just doesn't know how to control himself/herself and continue to look down on you.

You're giving that person a chance to realise the error(s).

But you will never realise that the chances that you gave was too many beyond what it was supposing to be.

Soon you figured out that you have enough of everything and went berserk.

--

When dealing with this kind situation, never take in comments like "ignore him".
I would prefer to handle this kind of situation with telling straight to that person - " i know about it ", "you don't have to keep repeating" , "i know you're experienced, but hey, I think what you're telling me right now are those what i know. Do you mind telling me something enriching or something that is new to me?".

That's how kind i am. If you think I'm trying to be mean here, I'll just take it that you're judging me because you don't understand or know me.

Never try to give back a reply that is similar to that person's attitude. You're just dragging yourself down to that person's dumbness level.

--

Getting looked down upon isn't a very bad thing after all. You'll get stronger, you'll want to surpass everyone, but getting too much being looked down upon is just way too much.

Likewise, don't look down on any other person too much. Who knows the next moment you'll be looked down upon twice the time.

Make a wise decision, protect yourself from emotional harm and refrain from harming others.

Wonderful Christmas 2013.

I rarely celebrate christmas, but when i do, i does it the right way.
This is probably the first time that i celebrated christmas, since i don't really care about whether is it Christmas or not in past 16 years of my life.

This year's christmas eve and christmas, i spent the entire day at Clarke Quay Central, working full shift.
You might be calling me nuts. Who the hell celebrate Christmas by working?
That will be me.

I have no idea how would you define Christmas as, but to me, the greatest Christmas will be spending it with friends that you are close with or with your family.

A great thank you to
1. Jefferson
2. Jonah
3. Elson
4. Khayen
5. Mabel and Tabitha
6. Yuzi

who made my Christmas an enjoyable one.
.
.
.
and i can't wait for my last day working at central on 29th December.

22 December 2013

Virgin Try @ Broteiz.

A big thank you to those who managed to find time to celebrate my birthday and those who wished me a blessed birthday and enjoyful day. Even though it's just a mere birthday wish, I'll still appreciate it!

Honestly, I can't imagine how a birthday will be like when there's no birthday wishes from anybody.
Maybe i should change my Twitter's name to something else rather than @21december_ .
Probably next year, there won't be anyone who remember my birthday. HAHAHA.

Shall put those jokes aside.  On this special occasion, i was able to catch a movie and a dinner date with my secondary school friends, they are probably the best friends that i ever have in Secondary School.

They are Jonas and Changzhi. So it was a double birthday yesterday.

Cheers to the recently-turned 17's Desmond and Jonas !

We managed to catch '47 Ronins' which I would consider a not bad movie, giving it a ratings of 4.0/5.0.

Reasons being that this movie was inspired by a true event. However, there were certain parts that was quite sadistic and the main roles eventually died.

Enough of spoilers, catch 47 Ronins if you haven't !

It was my first time at Broteiz by the way.

I would definitely recommend the Pork Knuckles which is their signature dish.
It as big as anything that makes you go wow.
Your stomach will literally yell - ENOUGH!
But you will still continue eating and eating.
Because it's way too nice.

Again, i would like to specially thank those who celebrated my birthday and made wishes to me.
Thank you so much for being part of my life, whether is it less than a year or 17 years of my life.
Last but not least, i would like to thank my parents for bringing me up for this past 17 years, giving everything that i wanted and providing me with everything that i need. Thank you so much.

5/10 Zeus Outing - Perhaps Birthday Celebration

I'm like writing this post currently at 11:46pm, 20th December 2013. Just to let you guys know how fast 2013 was. 2013 was like a flash bang. I could still remember vividly that 1 year ago, I went to watch CZ12 and ice skate with my secondary schoolmates. It's really too fast. Can you guys believe  ITS DECEMBER ALREADY.

For those who is still stuck in your lalaland, time to wake up and welcome 2014.

I got to say today is probably one of my best days ever.
Part of Zeus Family celebrated my birthday and I really appreciated it.

If you guys don't know, Zeus consists of some of my favourite DPA friends and they are the closest to me. It's like I can't live without them. You can probably think about you can live without him/her in a relationship that kind of thing.

It's really unbelievable. I have never thought that we could be so close to each other.

I will really like to thank those who came down today that you guys made my day and I'm thankful for what you guys have did. From getting me a shirt to printing all my unglams and pinning it up to a LAUNDRY DRYER (Which was super weird, why laundry dryer?) This is like the most funniest and weirdest birthday present i ever received.

I'm too lazy to write further anymore because there's way too many wishes to reply to!
So let the photos do all the talking alright? :)

Dinner was at Seafood Lagoon! :)
