2013 was a good one for me, was it good for you? I hope it is!
Well, i started off 2013 with some great new year resolutions, and I'm proud that I achieved most of them.
2013 New Year Resolution:
1. Maintain the balance between working and studying for at least half a semester - Accomplished
Yup, I'm kind of not very confident in that at first
2. Attain a GPA of at least 3.60 for the first semester in poly. - Accomplished
Yes, I'm only in year 1. *cries* i wished I'm in year 3 now
3. Better friendship, lesser enemies. - Accomplished
Some of you may know that friendship between me and a number of people soured because of a certain remarks i made. After all, friends is much more important nowadays but i do wonder who are real and who's not. But still, better friendship is much more desirable than having more enemies
4. Have a great Polytechnic Preparatory Programme (PPP) - Accomplished
PPP is the programme for DPA students which starts 2 months before polytechnic semester begins. Through this programme, I made friends from different schools (be it within Temasek Poly or different secondary school.) and i'm glad to have them. They just made my social circles larger and wider in diameter. I never regret meeting them and the only regret i have was not being able to attend one of the activities planned during orientation due to a stomachache of mine. Shucks.
5. Attain a leadership position in the school or any organisation(s) - Accomplished
(a) Greendale Alumni
Since the start of 2013, I was appointed as the Press and Media Officer of my Secondary School's Alumni, Greendale Alumni. Subsequently, I became the Vice President of the Alumni, along with Xavier (President) and JianHao (Vice President).
And of course, I would like to thank the 2nd Executive Committee of the Greendale Alumni for their commitment and time for the past one year.
(b) DPA Interest Group Main Committee
Even though i had left this committee 2 months ago, i can still remember the memories of us as a committee vividly. As the media head of the committee, there are many things to be done. Although this wasn't really a leadership position, I did make effort to be involve in every decision-making and meetings. Numerous of meetings continue one after another until the event day itself. It was tiring but nevertheless I do enjoy the presence of each and every members who made effort to be part of the decision making.
The chalets that we have was unforgettable, from Aloha Changi to NSRCC.
Thank you so much for all your patience even though sometimes, I was an asshole when voicing out my opinions.
6. Get Braces done - Accomplished
This could be my greatest accomplishment in the year of 2013.
I was always scared of the agonising pain that i will have if i were to have braces.
In addition, I'll always like to know how the hell does the dentist put the braces on your teeth ?!
(Now i know how)
I did my braces in April 2013, and it has been 8 months already. Gosh that was fast.
In around 10 months, I can show off my straight and neat teeth (like finally).
Of course, this new year resolution won't have been accomplished, if not for my mum.
Thanks for your unconditional love for the past 17 years of my life.
7. Spend more time with my beloved family - Partially Accomplished
In this year, I'm glad that I was able to have great memories with my family (both immediate and extended). But one thing that i regretted is that not being able to celebrate my birthday with my family this year as well as more time with the extended family.
Luckily, it wasn't so bad since my uncle recently got married!
(And thankfully, the Loh family managed to get a family photo taken with most members present)
In addition, I also managed to visit my Grandmother who resides in Muar, Johor, Malaysia for celebration of her birthday. (It was grand, although she's only 72. oops.)
----
This pretty sums up my year of 2013, with much of my new year resolutions being completed.
2013 has been a fruitful year for me, from friends to family as well as for myself.
Although I'm still single currently, the life of being single is definitely much more carefree.
I can proudly say that I'm a carefree blogger in terms of personal life.
Also, even though i did not stated in my 2013 new year resolution that I would like to be become a blogger, I'm glad that i'm actually keeping this blog alive and very willing to bring it to the next level.
Many friends of mine were like "You? You have a blog?!"
And i was like "yeah, is there something wrong? haha"
It appears that males don't really like to blog compared to females.
