Inspired by dreams that i have these few nights, i decided to do an entry about dreams.
I believe everyone at least have a dream in their lifetime.
Whatever kind of dream. Dreaming about your future or maybe some fictional issues.
So what exactly is dreams?
Dreams are successions of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep.
I'm not gonna talk about those dreams that i had while sleeping for these few nights, although the dreams was really cool. I'm just going to mention about another kind of dream (NOT DAYDREAMING THOUGH) that all of us have. Our dream of what we want to do in the future.
While I was young, my dream was to be a media person. If i didn't remember wrongly, i only started to have a dream when I was in Primary 2 or 3. I'm not really like others who even dreamed to be a firefighter or whatever just because that they were inspired by cartoons or action films.
I mean, all of us are quite naive during childhood. We tend to think simple and never consider thinking deeper and further into our thoughts. Just by telling your parents, "I want to be a firefighter/police" , doesn't mean you really get to be.
I remember there was a time that my parents brought me to one of their friends' house at Toa Payoh. I can't remember how old was I, but I'm very very young. The important thing is that i actually tried to be like a policemen because i found a handcuff toy in the house. Gosh what was i doing?! (I can't believe i still remember though) And the funny thing is that, I used the handcuff and trying cuffing my dad up. Hahaha, and I can't cuff him because
1. His wrist were to big ,
2. It's called a toy for a reason.
I think that was the only occurrence that it somehow relate to the trend at that time though.
So what did i really refer to by saying "media person"?
I was actually referring to being a producer, cameramen or even a director.
Basically, it's just any career that is related to the mass media.
I guess I really like being a media person that I even got into my Secondary School CCA, Greendale Broadcasting Corporation.
This CCA really relate to my dream a lot. and not to mention that this dream of mine went on for a few years since primary school.
It really satisfies my dreams. I have never failed to always think about how a certain part of a drama was filmed. Behind each scene are those cameramen, director, producers and so on. Although this is part of my interest and dream, i feel that all of us should appreciate how a film is being produced.
From being able to direct my own mini film to adjusting the sounds as well as controlling the amount light to be taken in for a photo to be produced, I honestly think that it is the best dream that i ever have.
I'm pretty much satisfied with my dream of being a media person. A dream might not be career, it could be an interest.

At the age of 15 (and a half), my dream took another course. I ventured into the world of accounting, and since then, i tried to excel in every accounting test. But i guess, that would be too enclosed. What we should be exposed is the open and realistic world. Getting full marks or A in every accounting test isn't a very good gauge. Because of this as well as my interest, I decided to go for Diploma in Accounting and Finance in Temasek Polytechnic.
Initially, I was more interested in Mass Communication in Ngee Ann Polytechnic because of my dream previously. However, accounting proved that it's able to capture my curiosity and interest, therefore I am here in Temasek Polytechnic now.
My current dream is to become an accountant (or maybe an auditor). But i'll prefer being an accountant though. Whereas, being a media person actually became a real interest and hobby. I have a lot of interests though but the main two interests will be media as well as leadership.
Of course, when we speak of dream, obviously sometimes all of us will daydream on something that is impossible to reach. But if a dream can be achieve, just go for it.
